Educational Inequality

Education Inequality is the unequal distribution of academic resources to socially excluded communities.

Many high school students in the United States, due to education inequality, lack access to knowledge and guidance about higher education, a crucial stepping stone in their academic journey.

Key facts:

  1. Funding disparities: "Predominantly non-white schools in lower-income districts receive $23 billion less from the federal government than predominantly white, middle-class school districts" (EdBuild, 2019).

  2. Higher education access: "Just 11% of students from the lowest income quartile earn bachelor’s degrees within six years, compared to 58% of students who come from the highest income group" (Pell Institute, 2020).

These statistics underscore systemic challenges in educational equity, highlighting the urgent need for policy interventions and resource allocation reforms to ensure equal educational opportunities for all students.
